Are your students feeling a little bored?

Sometimes teachers do too much of the talking.  This creates a laziness in the students and often boredom because the students come prepared to "just sit and listen" (and daydream and think of something else).  Ensure that part of the lesson is a student to student session; this gives opportunities to interact, share ideas, help each other, and remove the teacher as the focus.  Always have an idea tucked into your planning that you can introduce at the beginning, middle or end of the lesson to enable this kind of activity.
