Not all teachers want to include crafts in the classroom. I would encourage them however. The fact is, tactile props really help communication and learning because doing something like crafts adds a visual and tactile aspect to the lesson. The lesson will be memorable and therefore some new vocabulary will be learned too. Even if some of the crafts don't work out, the giggles will add enjoyment and thereby encourage connections of the students. Choose from paper and fabric, from scrapbook type pages, card making to hand sewing if your class is made up of students who like to sew. YouTube has great choices that students can listen to and then follow. Of course, you have to know your students to prepare something that will be good for everyone and make you, the teacher, feel comfortable to teach.

I love this idea. My kids love to create things and it helps them with conversation. They are very comfortable talking to each other. Thanks Lucille!

Well, I totally agree with you. I think it's stupid - not to include crafts. Children love making something by their own. Why not use this affection then? It's wonderful to have different idea how to improve the education process
