The Lazy Cat

Next door there is a lazy cat.  He is so  lazy that he sleeps all day on the sofa, on the front porch.  If a dog goes by,  he doesn't care.  If a bird flies by, he doesn't care. He looks up at the people who say
hello  to him.  He thinks, "Why is everyone saying hello to me?" He puts his head down  again.  Sometimes he opens one eye, sometimes both.  He yawns the biggest yawn  that a cat can, and he sleeps again.

But in the night he is a ball of fire.   His eyes are wide open.  He sees everything - every mouse, rabbit and  bug.  He  catches mice, moths and flying insects.  He can jump, hide, play, and
run - and  he is fast and clever.

And in the morning, you won't  believe  it - there he is - asleep on the sofa again.

"Is he really sleeping?" you think, "or  is he planning the next exciting night?"

And is that a smile you see on
his  face?

Write about your pet or an animal you want to
have  at home.
