Kids' Reading
GlassesMy teacher asked me to read a question on the board. My answer was wrong. I knew the work, but I was shy to say that I couldn't see the words clearly.
So, I went home and told my mom the story. "We need to go to the optometrist. He can give you glasses so you will see the writing on the board," she said. But I was too shy to wear the glasses. For a few days, I didn't. After some students laughed at me when I didn't read the words on the board, I thought, "It is better to wear glasses and read the work, than feel stupid". The next day, I put the glasses on. I felt shy, but when I looked around the room, nobody laughed at me or asked me about the glasses. I saw that John, Jimmy, Bob, Sarah and Tim also had glasses on. And they all looked fine. So, I wear glasses now, and I know all the answers....and I feel good. Tell a story about feeling shy or self-conscious L.Lever Copyright 2009 |
