Grammar Script

Passive/Perfect combination

"The Cake"

A:   Where is the cake that I baked?  I put it on the counter.

B:   I haven't seen a cake here.

A:   It must have been taken by someone. Did you see anyone around here eating chocolate cake?

B:   It must have been eaten.

A:   It was a huge cake.  How could it be finished already?  Even if someone ate some of it, they couldn't have eaten it all!  It was taken out of the oven only an hour ago! Go  and ask John if he saw anyone take my cake.  I can't believe that it could have been stolen without anyone seeing the
"cake thief".

C:  (Coming into the room with a whole cake in  his hand)
Hi everyone.  Here is the cake that was baked.  Hey, this is such a lovely cake.  May I have some?

A:  We have been looking for the cake.  Now I understand that it was taken by you.  Why did you take  it?

C:   I took it to show Grandma.  She  said that the cakes that are baked by you are the best.  She wanted it brought to her room so that she could see it.

A:  If she wants a piece I will be  happy to give her a slice.  She should taste some before it is finished  by the visitors.

B: I will take a slice to her.  Then, I want some too.
