Argument
Parent:
You never clean your room!
Teen:
That's not true. I sometimes clean it before I go to bed.
Parent:
You always throw your socks under the bed.
Teen:
Yes, that's true. I throw them at the cat. He sometimes likes to play with them.
Parent:
You never return your library books on time.
Teen:
I usually do. But why do you always complain about me? I am a teenager. Sometimes I do things. Sometimes, I don't.
Parent:
I often complain, but you know, I always love you anyway.
Teen:
Occasionally I enjoy being tidy, but actually, I generally enjoy the mess in my room.
Parent:
And you won't always be a teenager!
(
They both laugh)
