By the time we have finished with Thanksgiving, we have covered the theme of turkey, recipes, and visiting family or travels to others, and are often happy to move on to a new theme. Some other ideas that we could include in this theme could be:
Write a list of twenty things you have, that you love
Write about your favorite friend/cousin/place you often visit
Make a quick end-of-year resolution list to start on now, instead of waiting for the new year
Discuss uplifting topics, stories of recovery, articles that make one feel good.
When introducing any of these topics, teachers can encourage their students to do some introspection and understand that focusing on positive things leads to a feeling of happiness, thankfulness, gratefulness, or just well being.
